In 1936, the North Borneo Company Administration published a booklet entitled Tuaran Adat. The work was the second of a series of six booklets published by the North Borneo Company Administration from 1932 to 1939, introducing various aspects of the customs of three of North Borneo’s main non Muslim peoples-the Dusun, the Murut and the Kwijau. The Tuaran Adat is one of four booklets relating to the adat (customs) of the Dusun people (Kadazandusun). The booklet was reissued by the Government of the Colony of North Borneo in 1953 as Native Affairs Bulletin No.2.
