Robert Inger

Dato Dr. Robert F. Inger, Curator Emeritus, Field Museum of Natural History Chicago, began his work in Borneo with research trip to eastern Sabah in 1949. Since that time, he has conducted fieldwork on amphibians in Sabah and Sarawak frequently from 1956–2006, and has also collaborated frog surveys in Brunei and East Kalimantan. Dato’ Dr. Inger has been an inspiring mentor and friend to generations of graduate students and other young herpetologists from the USA, many countries in Southeast Asia, and all over the world. He lives in Chicago with his wife, Datin Fui Lian, who is also a herpetologist.
