The Authors

K.M. Wong is a botanist who has worked on the flora of Borneo (including Brunei Darussalam) and Peninsular Malaysia since 1980. He is an authority on the bamboos and the Rubiaceae (Coffea family) of Southeast Asia, and has a special interest in the conservation biology of rare plants in the region. He is currently with the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur.

C.L. Chan is a well-known illustrator who specialises in water colour and line-drawings of plants and insects. He is also currently documenting the orchids of Borneo in collaboration with the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and the Rijksherbarium, Leiden, The Netherlands. Among his other interests is the study of Bornean stick-insects.
